Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 2 October 2026

D’Evin Jewellery wants its corporate website to be usable by everyone, including disabled visitors and people who use assistive technology. This page sets out the accessibility measures currently in place, the limitations we are aware of, how this assessment was carried out, and how to reach us if there is something you cannot access.

Scope of this statement

This statement covers the D’Evin Jewellery corporate website: the Turkish pages and the English pages under /en.

The corporate website is a presentation site. There is no sales transaction, no price display, no basket, no payment and no membership on it. Visitors read information, get in touch and request a showroom appointment.

The following are outside the scope of this statement:

  • The online store, which is published at a separate address. The store runs on different infrastructure with a separate code base and requires its own accessibility assessment.
  • Third party platforms such as social media accounts, messaging applications and map services.
  • External addresses linked from this site. From the moment you follow such a link, the accessibility status and policies of that service apply.

Our approach to accessibility

Accessibility has been treated as a requirement from the start of this site’s development. Colour contrast is calculated when design and code decisions are made, keyboard use is taken into account, and the visitor’s reduced motion preference is respected.

This page is written to describe the current state of the site as it is. What is not met is set out alongside what is met; hiding the gaps would defeat the purpose of this statement.

Conformance status and target

This website is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. Partially conformant means that not all requirements of the guidelines are met yet, and that work continues on the items listed below under Known limitations.

Our minimum target is the WCAG 2.2 Level A criteria. Colour contrast has been measured, with the individual ratios given below; it is above the Level AA threshold for text colours and above the Level AAA threshold for primary text. Focus visibility was also considered in the design, but it has not been measured. This does not mean that the site conforms to Level AA in full: part of the AA criteria has not been measured.

The site has not undergone an independent accessibility audit. This statement is not a certificate, a declaration of conformity or an accessibility mark.

Accessibility measures in place

The measures below have been verified against the site’s own code.

  • Skip to content link: on every page the first focusable element becomes visible when it receives keyboard focus and jumps straight to the main content.
  • Landmark structure: every page has a single main content region, separate header and footer regions, and named navigation regions.
  • Heading structure: every page has a single top level heading, and this is checked automatically.
  • Page language: the language of the page is marked as Turkish or English. Proper names that should be read in another language carry their own language marking, so that screen readers pronounce them correctly.
  • Visible focus: the focused element is outlined in purple during keyboard navigation. In form fields the outline is adjusted separately so that it sits on the box of the field.
  • Reduced motion: if the reduce motion preference is set in the operating system, animations and transitions are stopped, smooth scrolling is turned off, and the opening film on the home page is not loaded at all; a still image is shown instead.
  • Keyboard use: interactive elements are built with standard button and link elements. No function requires a mouse.
  • Dialogues: the piece story and image zoom windows open with the browser’s own dialogue element, close with the Esc key, and return focus to the element that opened them. The mobile menu drawer has a focus trap, closes with Esc and returns focus as well.
  • Assistive labels: icon only buttons carry a text label, decorative images are hidden from assistive technology, and form errors are tied to the relevant field and announced as they occur.
  • Forms: every field label is bound to its field, required fields are marked, and error messages are given in text rather than by colour alone.
  • Alternative text: content images carry alternative text. Whether any image is missing its alternative text is checked automatically across every page at four screen widths.
  • Text size: the type scale is fluid and supports browser zoom. Each step of the scale is bounded so that text is not clipped when enlarged.
  • Turkish characters: the typeface is loaded with the Latin Extended subset from our own server. The characters ğ, Ğ, ı, İ, ş, Ş, ç, Ç, ö, Ö, ü, Ü all render, and no request is made to an external font service.
  • Map: the showroom map is Google Maps' embedded map; the frame has an accessible name, and a directions link for the same location is provided separately in the address block of the page. Accessibility within the frame is the responsibility of the map provider.

Measured colour contrast

The site’s colour palette was built by calculating the WCAG contrast ratio for each text and background pair. The values below are calculated from the colour definitions actually used on the site.

These ratios are for text colours. The contrast of the decorative rule is low and is noted separately under known limitations below.

  • Primary text on the page background: 13.21:1 (above the AAA threshold of 7:1)
  • Secondary text on the page background: 6.24:1 (above the AA threshold of 4.5:1)
  • Purple accent colour on the page background: 9.00:1
  • Deep purple accent on the page background: 10.98:1
  • White text on the purple ground: 10.15:1
  • Lilac text on the purple ground: 7.85:1

Known limitations

The following are the limitations known as of today. The list is limited to what the self assessment identified; since no comprehensive audit has been carried out, other gaps may exist.

  • The opening film on the home page starts automatically and plays in a loop. There is no control for pausing or stopping it. This is a gap in relation to WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.2.2 (Pause, Stop, Hide), Level A. As a mitigation, the film is not loaded at all for visitors whose operating system has the reduce motion preference set, and a still image is shown instead; this does not, however, replace a control that works independently of the operating system setting. Adding a pause control is being considered.
  • The film has no audio track and its content is described in text. Whether that description is sufficient for video only content (WCAG 1.2.1) has not been confirmed by an independent audit.
  • The decorative rule has a contrast ratio of 1.33:1 against the page background. Where it is used as a separator it carries no information and presents no problem; where it is used as the visible boundary of a control or form field, the 3:1 threshold (WCAG 1.4.11, Level AA) may not be met. Its individual uses have not been reviewed one by one.
  • The zoom layer for product images is built so that it can be navigated by keyboard, but it has not been tested end to end with screen readers or other assistive technology.
  • The site contains visible placeholder areas whose content is still awaited. The alternative text and heading structure of these areas will be reassessed once the final content is in place.
  • No rule engine that tests accessibility criteria automatically is used in the development process. The automated checks in place cover a measurable subset: missing alternative text, a single top level heading per page, the presence of the main content region, duplicate identifiers, broken images, form label binding and page language. They do not cover the full set of WCAG criteria.
  • The site has not been tested together with people who use screen readers, voice control or screen magnification software.

How this statement was prepared

This statement was prepared by the team that develops the site, as a self assessment. Three methods were used: automated checks across every page of the site at four screen widths, manual review of the code and the interface, and calculation of colour contrast ratios from the colour definitions used on the site.

There has been no accessibility audit by an independent third party. Nothing in this statement is an audit result, a certificate or a declaration of compliance with legislation.

Third party content and external links

This statement covers only content under our own control.

  • The showroom map is Google Maps' embedded map; it loads when that section of the Contact page comes into view. Accessibility of the content within the frame is the responsibility of the map provider and falls outside the scope of this statement. If you follow the directions link you are taken to the same service's own site.
  • The typeface is served from our own domain; no request is made to an external font service.
  • Links to the online store, to social media accounts and to the messaging application lead to separate sites. The accessibility of those sites is outside the scope of this statement.

Legal framework

This section is for information only and contains no legal assessment.

The section structure of this statement follows that of the model accessibility statement set out in Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523. That decision is addressed to public sector bodies in the European Union and has been used here only as a structural reference.

No accessibility mark, certificate or official declaration of conformity has been issued for this site.

  • Law no. 5378 on Persons with Disabilities establishes, as a general principle, that information and communication technology should be accessible to disabled people.
  • Presidential Circular no. 2025/10 (Official Gazette of 21 June 2025, no. 32933) sets a criterion and a compliance period for the accessibility of websites and mobile applications for the organisations it lists; the criterion is WCAG 2.2 together with a Level A checklist. Whether our corporate presentation site falls among the organisations listed in the circular is a matter of interpretation and is being assessed with our legal counsel. This statement makes no finding either way.
  • Directive (EU) 2019/882, known as the European Accessibility Act, applies according to whether the services within its scope are offered to consumers in the European Union, and it provides an exemption for micro enterprises in respect of services. Whether it applies here has not been determined.

Enforcement procedure

If you do not receive a reply to your feedback, or you are not satisfied with the reply, the body you may turn to and the procedure for doing so will be set out in this section.

[PENDING CONFIRMATION BY LEGAL COUNSEL: the body to which complaints about private sector web accessibility may be made, and the procedure]

Ongoing improvement and updates

The limitations listed above are recorded and work continues to address them.

The automated checks described in this statement are run again before every release of the site.

This statement is reviewed whenever a significant change is made to the site, and at regular intervals in addition. The list of known limitations is updated after each review.
