Eye of Horus Brooch

In ancient Egyptian mythology, the Eye of Horus is a powerful symbol of divine vision, protection, wholeness and restoration.

According to myth, Horus loses his eye in his struggle with Set; its restoration comes to signify healing and the recovery of what was once broken. The myth gives the Eye a meaning that extends beyond sight itself. It represents the ability to perceive what lies beyond appearances, to discern truth and to restore wholeness. Vision, in this sense, reaches beyond the external world towards an awareness of one’s own inner truth.

In D’Evin’s interpretation, the Eye of Horus represents not judgement, but awareness, inner strength and absolute honesty with oneself. True strength begins when you perceive what remains unseen and have the courage to face yourself.
