The Kroisos Sun Disc is one of the most refined symbols associated with the Lydian civilisation of ancient Anatolia. With rays extending from its centre, the disc evokes not merely a celestial body, but cosmic order, continuity and the eternal cycle of life. In ancient Anatolia, the sun was understood as a measure of time and a source of life, while its power was associated not only with worldly authority but also with balance and continuity. In D’Evin’s interpretation, the Sun Disc is more than an object of beauty. Its composition, balanced around a central point, embodies a sense of equilibrium and radiating strength, transforming an ancient symbol of sovereignty into a contemporary expression of power.
